Vancouver—October 10, 2017—BEST IN SHOW:FitMyFoot, the creator of 3D print, custom fit footwear and apparel, took home the award for Information Technology Best Presenting Company at the 2017Banff Venture Forum. FitMyFoot uses innovative 3D print technology to create custom insoles and footwear that is measured to the exact contours of your feet, all through the use of a smartphone app.
The Banff Venture Forum (BFV) is an event designed to showcase North America’s leading private technology companies, providing them with the opportunity to connect with premier private equity and venture capital firms. This year marked the 18th anniversary of the event, where 45 high-growth technology companies were in attendance.
“There were a lot of innovative companies presenting this year, so to be singled out among them was a real honour,” said FitMyFoot CEO and Co-Founder, Shamil Hargovan. “We are proud to be a part of the growing Canadian tech scene, and this event was a great opportunity to connect with investors, as well as lay the groundwork for some exciting strategic partnerships.”
Each presenting CEO had 15 minutes to speak to their company, vision, and product. The selection process incorporated feedback from attendees, as well as a panel of judges who are specialized in Information Technology. The selection panel included Brent Holliday, Co-founder and CEO of Garibaldi Capital. “I have attended the Banff Venture Forum for 20 years and the sophistication of presentations and level of competition have increased every year,” said Holliday. “FitMyFoot’s presentation was the best of over 25 other presenters for its clarity and compelling underlying business opportunity.”
The award adds to the list of accolades that FitMyFoot has accumulated, including recognition on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for CEO and Co-Founder of FitMyFoot, Shamil Hargovan, Vancouver UX Best User Experience Award, and the title of Kickstarter’s Most Funded 3D Printed Project.
