How It Works
FitMyFoot technology validates the photos you submit in our award-winning app, then digitally maps each foot with over 200 points to create footwear that is truly custom to your unique feet.
We get asked quite frequently about our photo capture process, and how to properly take your photos. Here is a quick and easy 5 step guide to properly capturing your feet in the FitMyFoot app.
Step 1: First things first, make sure you have all of the following before starting:
Solid hardwood or tile floor – carpet will unfortunately not work.
8.5x11 piece of white paper without any writing on it
A room with adequate light (like a kitchen or living room)
A wall that you can stand against
Your beautiful BARE feet – no socks, please!
Step 2: Place your 8.5” x 11”(standard printer paper in North America) letter size piece of blank white paper directly against the wall. It’s important that the paper is completely blank, and no bigger or smaller than 8.5” x 11, or else the app can’t properly measure your feet.
Step 3: When taking your first set of photos, make sure your heel and paper are completely flush against the wall and that you can see the edge of your heel and all of your toes in the camera frame. Pro tip: angle the camera slightly until you can see a tiny sliver of the wall behind your heel.
Step 4: When taking your second set of photos (side view to capture your arch), make sure that your heel and your toe are completely in the camera frame. This can be hard to do while standing, so please take your time and make sure you have fully captured your entire foot before continuing on.
After successfully capturing your arch, you will be asked to take a photo of the room without any movement (no dogs, friends babies etc.) This is so we can better understand where your foot is in the photos (technical stuff).
Step 5: Check your photos, and go through the photo validation questions carefully and make sure the photos you took are great. This will significantly increase the likelihood of a body-perfect insole.
For your top photos, double check that you can see your entire foot (heel to toe).
When checking your side photos, it's common for your toes to sneak out of frame. However, to have a successful capture, you need to make sure that the edge of your heel and the tips of your toes are completely visible.
